I am no technology whiz. Not even close. Anyone who knows me even fairly well knows that I’m terrified of technology. Generally speaking, I know enough to get by, and I regularly attempt to stretch my technophobic muscles in spite of the discomfort! I’m trainable, and I’m not fast.
So, I posted my blog Tuesday past while on the road. Then, I allowed security updates from my security provider to my computer, as I’ve done many times. From that point forward, I was no longer able to access the internet. Period. Nada. Nothing. Not Wednesday. Not Thursday. Not Friday. Not Saturday. Not Saturday evening after arriving home. Not this morning. And, believe me, I tried. Every single one of those days. At least once. I’m an optimist.
This afternoon I was using my internet-resistant computer to do some non-web work. Pretty soon, I had a message that I needed to restart my computer. WTH??? But, I did it.
This evening, resigned to the idea that my dear computer must go to the computer doctor the first thing tomorrow morning, I backed up all my files. Then, just for grins, I clicked on my internet icon. HOLY MOLEY! A MIRACLE!! Internet access!!!!
I don’t know how. I don’t know why. All I know is I have internet!! I hope my computer enjoyed its vacation!
